The Saguache Fire Department currently has 22 active members. Recently, the Department has formed three standing committees:
The WATER COMMITTEE is charged with ensuring that proper water sources are available in our rural community. The committee is making ties with local landowners and county officials to set up water stations in remote locations.
The EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE is charged with analyzing the Departments needs for new fire-fighting apparatus. They have been researching, cost estimating, and working on proposals for new equipment.
The TRAINING COMMITTEE is charged with ensuring that new and current members are trained to an acceptable and safe level.
